SafeUser for Moodle

The digital security course “SafeUser” is available for Moodle.

SafeUser is a cybersecurity awareness course for non-technical users consisting of 15 chapters and a final exam. SafeUser has developed a version for Moodle, one of the most common platforms in many companies and public entities. This Moodle version can be installed easily by means of a single import file that includes all the contents and settings described in this article
.

SafeUser provides a version that can be installed on Moodle

Moodle is one of the most widely used Learning Management Systems (LMS) among various types of organizations.

SafeUser recognizes this reality and, for this reason, offers a version of its course designed to be installed in just a few steps on any Moodle platform.

For organizations already using Moodle, the most practical and logical solution is to acquire a course that can be directly imported into their own Moodle platform.

Main advantages of using SafeUser with Moodle:

  • Users already know how to access Moodle and there is no added complexity in accessing the course.
  • Save time throughout the course’s installation and configuration process.
  • Guaranteed success: The course has already been successfully completed by thousands of users on their respective Moodle platforms.
  • While the course comes with a standard configuration, it is easily customizable to the needs of each client.

Segmentation into chapters

One of the key features of the SafeUser course on Moodle is that it is segmented into chapters.

Each chapter includes two activities:

  • Interactive slides in SCORM format featuring learning content that includes simulations of real-life situations, practical activities, and educational resources that encourage active learning.
  • Reflection in the form of 5 quiz questions to reinforce learned concepts.

Course activities must be completed in the order in which they appear. As shown in the image, only the first activity (SLIDES – Cybercrime) is enabled. The next quiz activity will become available once all preceding slides have been viewed.

After answering the five quiz questions, the next set of slides will be activated, and so on.

This approach ensures that participants follow a pre-established path according to the course’s designed sequence. Therefore, by the time they reach the final exam, all chapters will have been completed.

Final exam

The final exam consists of 20 multiple-choice questions taken randomly selected for each participant from the course’s pool of 150 questions. The responses are also in randomized order. This makes sharing answers difficult for participants.

Some questions may have more than one correct answer. This format encourages participants to think more deeply than they would if only one answer were correct. The exam grading process penalizes incorrect responses.

Satisfaction Survey and Certificate of Completion

After passing the final exam, the “Satisfaction Survey” module is activated to receive participants’ opinions and comments.

Once completed and submitted, the Certificate of Completion is activated and each participant can download it directly from their Moodle account.

Activity reports.

Users with a teacher, manager or administrator profile can view and download activity reports in Moodle’s “Grades” section.
The course is set up to allow detailed tracking of each participant’s progress level, as well as the overall progress of the group.

Slides: Each completed slide activity is scored with a “1” on the report card. This score does not count towards the final grade, but indicates that the activity has been completed.

Quizzes: For each completed quiz, the report shows the score obtained by each participant. This score does not count towards the final grade, but still indicates that the quiz has been completed.

Final exam: In the report column for the final exam, the score obtained by each participant is shown. This result does count towards the final grade. The course is configured to require a passing score of 70%

As explained above, all aforementioned specifications are customizable and can be adapted to the criteria of each organization.
