Chapter 1 - Cybercrime

Synopsis

Most cybersecurity incidents are related to human error by users.

Cybersecurity is a matter of user behavior and not so much a technical issue.

In the physical field, even if we have an armored door, if we provide the keys, the expense spent on that security door will be useless.

What cybercriminals do is “manipulate” us into giving them “the keys” without realizing what we are doing.

Learning objectives

  • What is cybercrime?
  • Who are the cybercriminals?
  • How do cybercriminals operate?
  • Is it possible to protect against their attacks?

Self-assessment questionnaire

This chapter includes 5 self-assessment questions aimed at reinforcing the concepts learned and practiced in the interactive slides.
